Phi Beta Sigma

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is a historically black greek lettered fraternity founded on January 9, 1914, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Built on the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, the fraternity emphasizes community engagement and equality.

The Gamma Alpha Kappa Chapter serves as a collegiate chapter committed to advancing the fraternity’s mission of brotherhood, scholarship, and service.

Requirements for Membership

Collegiate membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is limited to college men who are actively working toward obtaining a baccalaureate degree at a recognized college or university.

Potential candidates should have completed at least one grading period and have obtained a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA based on a four-point scale.

Candidates of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity cannot hold active or previous membership in another intercollegiate fraternity, other than an honorary or professional fraternity.
